Oh yes what can I say? Ok, I’m happy for I choose Lyceum to be the cause of my success. Just simple as that. Yes I do encounter problems in my college life but through the help of those people inside that school, I don’t hesitate all the trials i am facing, of course also with the help of our FATHER GOD. Yes, I don’t sleep and cry doing and finishing all school works but I’m proud doing that.
I do cramming but i do chin up after i accomplish my works. Being a Lycean help me on having strength that even on the last minute, we can have a solution on everything. And based on what i have observed “iba talaga pag LYCEAN”. Why? Have some time visiting different college school, and there you’ll find out.
Lyceum has a high education quality, although in our course, there is still something missing (just a bit). I hardly believe that there is a need for a professor with great expertise on the given subject so that we could benefit a lot to compensate just equally with our needs for competency. Another thing is, for me, Lyceum has an organized and discipline students. I also admire their JEP policy to practice being a good speaker.
A Jump start to your Global Career , that’s Lyceum., because in here, Ours the task you’re the product.
A very nervous day to a very lucky day =) what is this all about? I had a funny long travel in Makati with my group mates (Regina Ajes and Bebz Polo) to have an interview to someone out there. Why is it someone out there? Lol, because we didn’t set an appointment to any company there because we had a problem to the company that we must interview so we just go there and search walk-in. Another thing is we didn’t know how to go there, actually we are really strangers in the place were going to have the interview. We’re just depending on the instruction given by Regina’s sister.
It’s almost lunch time when we left Calamba and arrived in Makati at around 2:00pm. (not sure) Before we search for a company we ate first in Jollibee in front of the building “The Fort Legend Tower”, and after that, we run on the street to go back in the said building with heavy rains.
In finding the Holy Cow Company that was given by the friend of Bebz, we were lost in the elevator of their building. (KINAIN KAMI! GRABE) and it was really creepy because the elevator was back to back. And inside it was like the room of SADAKO. Lol.
At first, the holy cow company didn’t allow us to let us interview them because it was exactly their presentation when we arrived. So we go to the other side and the same answer, we were rejected. So we transfer again to the other side, we talked first to the secretary and the boss saw us (He’s an American) i had an internal bleeding for i talked to him and he was like Oh’ (parang MANGANGAIN). He first ask us why are we there, a lot of question and shalalala. We thought he will allow us but like the other he also rejected us.
We keep on going and still go back on the company we went before. A little bit of pretending a good speaker and a little of begging emotions, we were so lucky when the assistant of the company Galilee tell us that we can interview their web programmer after their boss leave the building. So we went first to the lobby waiting for the boss go out. We also waited on the comfort room of the 10th floor for almost an hour. We had kulitan mode there and really had fun. We also go back on the Holy cow company and there you are, the hr department allowed us and let us interview their Animator and Illustrator.
After this unforgettable day, we went to SM Makati and saw Heart Evangelista, Isabel Oli and Georgina Wilson. Oh I’m just like them,. We’re all that pretty =) hahaha
I can proudly say that I belong to the department of College of Arts and Sciences in Lyceum of the Philippines Laguna. Wew, haha =) what is it that makes me in love with this department?? Oh’ common, it’s been obvious. Really! Right?
This was the most promising department ever! They were not LIKE a family because THEY WERE REALLY A FAMILY. This department consist of the noisiest people in Lyceum, but with guts and full of talents. I can be myself when I’m with them and be challenge of being a good speaker because 97% of this people were really that good.
Being honest, before, I really wanted to shift on other course in Lyceum but I feel regretful because of the people as well in this department. I was thinking that if I shift to the other course and be on the other department my friends will be countable.
And another thing is I am renting an apartment because my real address was far from Calamba. There was a time that I feel so sad of being far apart with my family but because of having the CAS family my sadness is being lessen. They are fun to be with, just like other said to me.
So swak na swak AKO DITO =)
That’s why, I LOVE CAS
I really don’t remember on what just happened that day, even the name of the speaker as well. Because to be honest, the whole seminar was boring for me although the speaker was good and really have so many affiliations in life. He was so formal that everything that he has said did not inject in my mine.
I waited for almost two hours for I thought the seminar will start at exactly 12pm and I was in Lumban that day so i left home at 9:30am and arrived in school at 11:30am to distribute the tickets for the said seminar, but unfortunately the seminar started at 2:00pm. It was so disappointing.
While waiting, we eat and eat and eat outside the AVR area, and after that, they let us watched movie to kill the feeling of being bored. After the whole seminar I went to the gym of Lyceum to teach the routine of our DACELEB to the new comers in Lyceum Spartans Dance Troupe.
I left the school at 6:00pm and arrived at the terminal in crossing Calamba after one hour because of that effin traffic. I hate it really. It make e feel trauma that night because i was the only girl on the jeep and all the “MANONG” there were really scary. All of them were like Goons ,.. kaya umiyak ako sa jeep,. Hahaha

Before, I feel boring when attending seminars. Some speakers are so formal that make the discussion so dull. But last Saturday (September 3, 2011), I enjoyed a lot listening with the speaker. She was not that formal but helped us increase our knowledge about the subject “Innovative and Effective Sales Techniques: invest on your competitive advantage.”
Under the discussion, Corporate Image is one of the topics. It is the tool that they use so that the end user will define the company. And as far as I’ve learned, this image is what a company “stands for”. Second is Communication and Advertising Materials, and she said that AVP’s causes a lot of money. So us, the multimedia artist needs a lot of effort in making AVP. We have to think new ways to make great video or presentation without spending a lot of money. Third is “public Relations”, the overall term for marketing activities. It is also known as the “PR Program”. In my understanding, it is related to community extension. Next is the “Trade Fairs”, ways to promote business to other businesses. Then the “Stealth Marketing or Undercover Marketing”, which people on the certain business is not aware that they’re marketing. Lastly is the “Buzz and Viral Marketing”. Buzz is the word of mouth and Viral uses of multimedia and technology to spread the news.
After the discussion, I really wanted to practice my speaking skills for the future, because Networks are everywhere and communication skills are included with it, or we can just say that you must be a good speaker to win a consumer/costumer.
But based on the speaker last Saturday, no one cares on how you deliver your words, what’s important is you say what you want, you express yourself and you get what you need, and that’s Marketing. And i have learned that marketing is flexible, “Kung sino kausap mo, yun ka!”.. If you are a speaker of a people in a high class, you have to speak like them and when you discuss with a person under the low to middle, you have to limit your language or the choice of words that you will use.
When I learned that there will be a long weekend vacation, my plans were focused on how I’m going to celebrate my debut. Although I don’t have a party because I choose to celebrate it on October outside the country, I also prefer to have a little “GIMIK” on the exact date of my birthday , but I wander, how I’m going to do it if I have a lot of school works to accomplish for that week. So I listed on my planner the things that will make me happy and satisfied on my debut.
The first on my list is to take time dating with my parents. I really wanted more time with them for I don’t usually go home every day, and if I do, all my time were being used with my school assignments and projects. Fortunately, this long weekend helped me accomplish my mission which is to bond with my family.
Second on my list, is “shopping”. I’m happy to say that I’m successful with it too. I spent my own savings buying my type of clothes. I enjoyed fitting different clothes in t6he shopping mall though it was tiring. This activity really lessens my stressful days, although, I spent my savings, but it’s alright because I enjoyed a lot.
Next is having a whole day beauty rest on a spa or parlor. I’m not yet done with it because I have to finish first all my projects and assignments, but I’m really wishing to make it before my birthday. I know it’s all about spending money again but I really want to make it before I turn 18. We know that celebrating it is once in a lifetime. That’s why I’m over reacting, but I’m like that.
When I have a friend celebrating his/her birthday, sometimes I make it a point I’ll be doing something for him/her that will surprise the celebrant, but unfortunately, no one is doing that for me ever since (hahaha. Nagparinig) But it’s alright with me, at least I’m having everything that I want before my birthday. Why?……… because I already received my advance gifts, like cell phone from my aunt and some clothes from my uncle. But there’s something else, I’m very much excited this coming October. My mom bought me a ticket to Singapore so that I could have a post birthday celebration there with my cousins. I’m really thankful with that wonderful gift from my MOM.
Lastly is, I think I have to keep it secret first then tell you guys after my birthday. Another plan for this vacation is of course finishing all school works that was given to us. Term paper for sociology, big book for Philippine literature, prepare for the marketing presentation and this blog entry.
So that’s it. I keep on thinking what I should do next to be successful. But we have to remind ourselves that we have to relay once in a while and with all this things, nothing can compare the happiness I felt.
Actually, this was supposedly posted last Thursday, but unfortunately it was our Midterm Exam week, that’s why I set aside it first and focus on reviewing on my notes. After a while, when I was doing this blog, my mind seems so tired that time and no ideas coming out from it, and I was really thinking of how I can finish our project, with the help of my two co-members in our group.
At first, during the time when my professor was assigning the members in every group, I am really wishing and praying that the 2 persons who will be called as my co-members are included to those students who have good standing in our class. But As I was thinking, I also wonder, how I am going to learn more if I am depending on the ability of others. Besides, I believe that I can do what others can do. I may not be that good, but I know that someday or soon I can bring out in me more of my ideas and talents because at this very moment, I am really doing my best to be successful with my own skills in this field.
With regards to my group mates, I am sincerely thankful because i know they were both cooperative and full of ideas. The three of us have different skills and different ideas in designing, but our differences will help us learned more from each other. I think that was the main goal why each of us was assigned to work with others. I am just scared to have a scene wherein I am struggling to work hard for a project while others are too much relaxed and doing nothing but commenting nonsense at all.
I believe that if each member of the group will help each other and not be selfish in sharing his/her ideas to come out a good project, and also everyone should have one and the same goal…, and that is to be better in the chosen field & get high grades, surely everyone will be successful…… Everyone will improve a lot, and will get better and better……
THE USE OF INFORMATION SYSTEM IN BUSINESS
Business firms invest in information system and technology because they are necessities of doing business. I believe that to be successful in today’s competitive marketplace, organizations need access to a business information system that produces accurate and targeted information about customers, the market, and competitive intelligence. Establishing a superior business information system presents lots of challenges. The common method for using the information system is scanning newspapers, trade journals and competitor’s web sites – is time consuming and can be inaccurate and somewhat incomplete.
The percentage of missing important information is high, and the probability of getting vital information to all the right people at the right timing is low. Plus finding a business information system that can be easily integrated into an existing information infrastructure or enterprise portal is complicated.
With the business information system used nowadays, you can create information topics for the entire company to track, as well as topics for specific departments or individuals within the organization. Because our system delivers information directly to the desktop, employees can track information while they continue working. When employees need to perform more detailed searches, they can to the site where they’ll find a single point of access to a deep archive of news and business information.
Although information technology has become more of a commodity, when coupled with complementary changes in organization and management, it can provide the foundation for new products, services and ways of conducting business that provide firms with a strategic advantage.
BUSINESS PERCEPTION
Planning to start a business is exciting but much frightening as well. It’s a good idea of course being your own boss but can be scary too, risking a big amount of money, depending on the type of business. Choosing the type of business you are going to start should be plan well and analyze in order to foresee success in your plans. It should be something of your interest. For instance, you love cooking; definitely your business should be in-line with food like restaurant or catering business.
Always consider that in choosing a business, it is something that you will enjoy doing. At the same time, you need a business idea that will be a success, so you should also determine if there’s a service or product that is not offered but that the community could use. Be wiser enough to think that if there will be no market for the goods and services you will offer, the business will never be a success. Therefore, take more time to think analyzing the market to be sure that there is a need on the services/products you wish to offer.
Another thing to consider in starting up a business of your own is the funding. Of course you need to spend money before you can push through with your business, but if you have no enough funding for that, you can apply for a loan, for instance, a business loan, but as a requirement, you need to have a convincing business proposal for you to be granted of that type of loan. Making money in business needs a lot of hard work.
The business owner must establish a positive impression to the customers. In establishing or building a positive impression, one must determine first your target end-user/customers. For example, if you will be offering a restaurant business in a busy are like Makati City, your target customers are the employees and business people. With these, you must establish the impression that your restaurant is a safe, clean, and has a relaxing quite ambiance and that you understand the needs of employees and business people. By building this impression, of your business, you will be more likely to get your target customers to search out your restaurant over other restaurants. If the customers will have a positive impression in your business, many will choose your place even if your rates are slightly higher or even if your location is not quite as convenient as other restaurants in the area. Once you have created this positive impression, your business will have a greater chance of success. Not only will your customers keep coming back to you for more, they will also tell others about the great work that you do and you will gain new customers based on the impression or perception you have created.
